Looking at trading in Cherokee 4.7 petrol. 2001. 2 year NCT. Leather FSH. New tyres perfect condition. Tax €1500+ pa.

Whats it worth please, I have been gettin ridiculous figures from garages on a trade in on a 08 car. I will buy a pint for the 1st person who guesses the lowest figure so far.

tbh I would be of the opinion that it is worthless and completely and utterly unsaleable. Who wants a very mediocre jeep that is a 4.7 ltr petrol ????

I'm surprised that garages are not refusing to take it.

I'd say your being offered 500-1000 as a token trade in.

Correct, but its the 4.7 version, not the 4.0

This won't help, but I know someone who had a very similar one up here, and he had no viewings, even at £100. He wants to give it away, but nobody will take it. Too costly to run and maintain. Take whatever you can get for it.

I'll give it a good home if you want rid of it. They're worthless, seen a few being crushed with nothing wrong with them, driven into the crusher.

If it was converted to a commercial for tax reasons there might be a slightly bigger market for it but the petrol engine is the killer.

I may pop down to SaabEd. Where you at.

I like the look of the megane coupe. Do you have a nice 1.5dci available.

The 4.7 engine is a hoot. Very hard to keep the right foot sane.

Do what that Milk float lunatic in the UK did. Rover V8 engine + milk float =

    Chauffe, Marcel, chauffe!

This is a Grand Cherokee, no? That's a fairly powerful, high spec yoke. Surely someone turning it into a commercial or someone using it on private land only (i.e. farmer) would come up with at least a grand for it?

OP - Have you advertised the car yet? If so, any chance of a link to the ad?

No not yet, just been around around a few dealers looking at what I can get. It has not been any fun.

I'd advertise it privately, it might just be a question of finding the right buyer.

Probably cost you more in petrol driving it around than what it's worth :)

I did a repair on a 09 one back in June, the owner was telling me that there was nearly 20k off a new one as an incentive to shift them. Scary stuff!
