    Hi all.

I posted this in the marketing pages but did not get much of a response from it, so I was hoping it might get a bit more over here as there is probably more operating owners here.

I am looking into a new startup and trying to calculate Advertising costs.

I was wondering could anyone help me with displaying roughly what they are paying for theirs at the moment.

I am thinking along the lines of National and/or Local.
    Newspaper,
    Radio ads,
    Bill Boards,
    Google Ads,
If theres anymore service's you use that you find beneficial it would be great if you could mention them to.

What are their costs for once off or per month or per edition etc.

Thanks very much for your help on this

It would be difficult to give an accurate answer as the cost of your advertising will depend on the types and size of ads you are running and which radio stations, newspapers etc that you are running them in, your best bet is to give the newspapers etc a ring and ask them for quotes on the various sizes and types of ads that are available.

The same goes for Google advertising, you set your own budget for Google advertising and the cost for each click will be dependent on how competitive your target sector is.

    Here's a list of costs

    http://www.nni.ie/v2/broad/portal.php?content=../_includes/rates.php

But that's just the rate card charge normally you can negotiate a lost less depending on your spend.

www.medialive2.com details rates for all types of Irish media. You need to register but's free.

Rates are always negotiable however, particularly in this market.

Thanks, As I said not really looking for exact figures but mainly what people have paid recently as apposed to what the websites have listed.

I am mainly looking for what others are using predominantly and what they are roughly paying. also what they find best. I suppose.

We're an online business who use Google Ads predominantly. We tried all sorts of offline advertising options, but none of them worked nearly as well as PPC ads. We spend on average €25 per day, 7 days a week, 10 months of the year.

But that figure is meaningless without knowing actual income figures - which I'm not sharing.

I will say, however, that it costs us €17 in advertising to acquire 1 new customer, and this is now the yardstick that we use to test all advertising against. Without knowing exactly how much you're prepared to spend for a new customer, you can't accurately measure the success of any advertising campaign.
