I was on the dole for 3 months until I got a job, but in those 3 months I didnt recieve any payment, I was on the waiting list the whole time.

I got my back pay today, but the letter includes "Your next signing on date is 20-oct-2009"

So do I have to go in and sign on? I thought I was finished with these guys :(

(Im kicking myself because I remeber someone asking a similar question here a few months ago and I cant remember the answer and the search function was no use)

    Thanks

    It's no issue
Wow, 3 months to get backpay

Last time (and only time) I was on the dole it was 9 weeks backlog
Yep, even in boom times there was a backlog

Call your local office and you'll be told to send a short letter. Basically, name, address, PPS number and any references numbers you have.
Say you want to sign off.

    Easy as that.
But a better option is type this up and go to your local office and hand it to an officer. Confirm they know what to do and it'll be done that day, hopefully
