Financial reports?

    Does anyone know if there is a financial report published by DIT for each faculty every year? If this doesn't happen, I think it certainly needs to happen. It would be nice to know exactly where our money is being spent, since of course we are being given a load of nonsense by the lab technicians in Kevin St. as to why it is impossible for us to load up software specific to final year projects in the specialised labs.

    Apparently the new solution is to have all students working on virtual machines, including students in the games stream. I don't know how the 60 students in third year this year doing games are going to run the Crytek game engine on a virtual machine. Enjoy programming Hyperion and other text based game engines I suppose. I bet the student body would be glad knowing that their administration spent €100,000 on a lab fitted out with specialised computers for graphical processing so that people can connect to their virtual machines.
