    Hi just need some clarification;

I have a friend who has inherited some land (location not disclosed) from his parents recently, the problem is three caravans with members of the travelling community have decided to 'park' at the entrance to the field!

Of course he his not going to approach them without first knowing his rights first.

Can anybody advise as to who he should approach about removing these lovely people of the land?

    "get along"

    "Move"

    "Shift"

if they have been there for years, it will be hard to get rid of them. If you live near ballinasloe, and they turned up in the last 2 weeks, they will be gone after the horse fair!

Unbeknownst to them, reside in a little used part of their caravan for 12 years, should they find you, you can intimidate them into leaving you alone. After this period has expired, you can claim the caravan as your own under the doctrine of adverse possession - you could then have it removed to a location of your own choosing quite legally.

    I hope this helps,

    Yours etc,

Tell them theres a new social welfare office opening up the road and the first 10 callers get a free caravan.

Maybe bake a nice pie and arrive up to their door with the pie and nice welcome basket to welcome them to the community,
They'll know then that they ain't gonna get money from you so probably move on straight away.

Offer them a job, they will run away in case they have to work for money instead of poping out babies and living of the dole and child benefit

    His land.. Not theirs..
Depends how long they've been there really but unless its a few years I doubt its an issue.

Still getting them to move voluntarily would be waaaayyyy easier

Been there for around 3 months or so, obviously my friends parents were old and did not want any trouble, they used they land to park their vans and dogs and children and vests etc....

You could pretend that the land belongs to Liam Carroll - ACC couldn't give a fcuk about social convention.

Get some big rocks and place them across the access so they cant leave..they dont like being hemmed in.
Tell them you'll remove the barricades on condition they move on.
