UPC publish their tarriffs for their HD packages on their website.
I am vaguely interested in the Digital Select pack & Digital+ HD package for €68.75. My question is How much is the package if you are an existing digital customer? I am not either a new customer or an existing analogue customer.
I am an existing digital customer.
Do I have to pay the €110 connection fee?
Holy S**t, €110!!!! where do they get off????

    Heres whats on the site.

    New customers:
€68.75 for Digital Select pack, Sky Sports, Digital+ HD & Multiroom Viewing. What's more, we'll connect you for FREE.

    Existing analogue customers:
€73 a month for Digital Select pack, Sky Sports, Digital+ HD & Multiroom Viewing and €110 connection fee.

And you would have got a new customer offer when YOU signed up.
I'm sure there were current customers giving out about you getting a "better deal" at the time.

Typical....I want the best deal (cross arms and stomp feet) . nothing gets us as a nation more peeved off then thinking someone else is getting something better than yourself.

It's not doing much for customer loyalty though - there's people who've been paying for cable for 20+ years and what do they get? Ridiculous upgrade charges.

True. Do they acually realise that there are many other options for customers.
If you have paid Cablelink/NTL/UPC ~€25,000 over the last 20 years, surely you should be treated to free upgrades of your box.
I would say that this is the main reason that people leave for satellite or whatever.

Upgrades on satellite aren't free either.

But with Sat, you own the box after the first 12 months are up, one never owns the UPC box, it is still there.

The other side of that is that UPC will maintain / replace the box for free. Still, I'm not getting HD until there are more channels or they get rid of the upgrade charge.

That's what exactly I'm holding on to. 2 upgrade charge for 2 boxes is ridiculously excessive for a loyal customer. Maybe I shall give them a threat to cancel all those premium channels packs we've since years!
