Youre best bet is to make it yourself. Pitching an idea won't get you anywhere unless you've got contacts and your idea is incredibly unique. If you write a script, you most likely won't get any major studio interested unless, again, you've got contacts and your idea is incredibly unique.

But on the plus side, there's many amateur filmmakers about who'd be more than willing to get involved in a film. If you want to get into filmmaking fulltime, then maybe consider starting with a short film first. It's not as involving as a feature film, and it won't cost as much. Plus it'll give you an idea of what to expect and when you're finished, you'll have at least something to show people.

No offence but if it was that easy we'd all be doing it,why not write a script or film a rough version yourself with friends, theres a bunch of amatuer film festivals in the country througout the year

Better asking on the Film Production board, there are courses and clubs and what not to get involved with like the young irish filmmakers. There is a big difference between wanting to make a movie and having an idea for one and wanting/looking for others to make it for you.
