    i just noticed this, if you get 1c 2c 5c 10c 20c 50c €1 €2 euro coins and 5 10 20 50 100 200 500 euro notes and add them all together you get a grand total of 888.88! is this just pure coincidence or is there something sinister or logical behind it??

    coins are factors of 10

    1 x 10 = 10
    2x 5 = 10

    it = 888.88 cos 5+2+1= 8

    500 euro 200 euro 100euro =====800
    50 euro 20 euro 10euro ====== 80
    5 euro 2 euro 1euro ====== 8
    50 20 10 cent ====== 0.80
    5 2 1 cent ======= 0.08
    simple really
    no conspiracy

    just easier adding to 100 if you have even numbers and not a 30 cent coin etc....

    This was on playtv last night... Add 1c 2c 5c 10c 20c 50c €1 €2 euro coins and 5 10 20 50 100 200 500 euro notes. The answer was 12322321.21231.12313.

    because only criminals use them in general.
    in criminal parlance 500s are referred to as 'bin ladens',cause you don't see them that often.

    888.88 is so that all the elements on the 7 segment displays are turned on,

    The sinister thing about it is that shows the appaling lack of resources in primary level education in this country. :rolleyes:

    Linear addition is just about the most basic type of maths you can do. Seriously do you live in a bungalow with automatic doors because you don't seem to know the basic concept of the decimal system where things are based on powers of tens ( places).

    IIRC the old coins used to add up to 67 1/2

    What is really sinister is that there usn't be a 20p coin , had they got rid of 2p and £20 then the totals would have been £6.66

    Think of any random number,
    add 7,
    add 4,
    subtract 2,
    subtract 3,
    add 9,
    subtract the number you first thought of,

    The answer is 15.

    You should go on the dole, in my local post office they only seem to hand out the big notes. Everyone complains about it because they won't break the big notes at the off licence.

    Replace the figure your left with using letters of the alphabet ie. a=1,b=2,c=3 etc till you get your corresponding letter

    Think of a country that begins with that letter

    The second letter of that country think of an animal that begins with that letter

    Now think of a colour of that animal .......................

    You have a Grey Elephant from Denmark! ;)well you should have

    Cos our ATMs do not churn them out like they do the fiftys,twentys and tens. If they did then we would see them and they would become more generally acceptable in shops, I have actually been refused to accept my E200 note by a shop here in ~Ireland

    yea its not uncommon. i bought petrol with a 200e note but the pump over here won't accept them.

    although i seen more 100s then i did before. i think ireland don't make their own 200e and 500's and possibly send them back to other countries when they get them. anyone who says that the high value notes are just used by criminals are just proponents of the cashless society.

    Irish banks don't issue 200 or 500, doesn't mean they don't have them.

    before the euro £50 were very rare, carrying cash out of the country was the standard excuse giiven for having £20 as the biggest not in common circulation

    The number 88 is commonly tattooed and used by neo nazi's as a way of greeting and recognizing one another in modern Germany, where all things of the glory days gone are banned.

    It stands for 'Heil Hitler' like h = 8 hh,

    Hitler is still in control of Europe - never lost it, I knew it

    Nope. They aren't legally obliged to sell anything to you.

    €500 notes are more for easier administration in banks
