Polyurethane A bar/insurance issue

    Hi all,

I have a 2005 navara which I fitted with an aftermarket Polyurethane A bar (ebay) about three years ago, since then it has passed the DOE without any problem, however when renewing my insurance the other day I decided to mention it just in case there was any issue, but because I fitted it myself the insurance company is insisting it has to be inspected and the work approved by a garage that is a main dealer(not necessarily a nissan dealer).I'm guessing that no main dealer will even consider looking at this never mind signing off on it.Can anyone suggest a dealer around Galway that might or has anyone experience of this type of problem? Thanks.

Go to any SIMI registered garage and ask them to inspect the installation and confirm it is correctly fitted to the vehicle. That was all I needed for my winch/bumpers etc.

Thanks for that, my local DOE test centre has agreed to look at it, they said there should be no problem.
