    Hi guys,
I am a final year BS student and hope to begin training to become an accountant next year. Unsure if I should pick ACCA,ICAI, or CPA though.
I know students must attend 70% of ICAI lectures to pass the year, but I dont know anything about ACCA lectures.
How often are these held and are they mandatory?, or could I study from long distance whilst working for my training firm?

    Peace and love.

The only people who care if you attend would be your employer if they pay for it, otherwise it doesn't impact taking the exam if you turn up or not. Usually the classes run from February to May and August to November. I highly recommend going as the books are hopeless and the material tough.

You mightn't have a choice about which body you want to study with. your new employer may make you choose one, but if you have the choice I recommend you to do ACCA. More flexibility with ACCA than ICAI. The two bodies are more less the same. CPA are getting popular but not really recognised as a large accounting body especially when working within the big 4.

For ACCA, lectures are held twice a year. From Sept to Nov for the December sittings and from Feb to May for the June sittings. There is no requirement to attend any lectures to pass exams. Unlike the ICAI, the ACCA do not run there own lectures, lectures are provided by different colleges such as independent colleges, Griffith college and Dublin business school.

Best of luck with the studies!!!
