    hi all i have gotten the oppurtunity to start a carpentry apprenticeship. i know in this day and age i should jump on anything i can get i was wondering does anybody know what the rates of pay are for a first year apprentice carpenter or does it vary on the employer. also im 20 i think another 4 years on ****e money could kill me so if anybody has any advice i would be very grateful.

    You should do it as a Auto Mechanic . Loads of Business and since people are not buying new cars but getting there own ones fixed

    Yeah but he hasn't been offered a mechanics apprenticeship!

    OP, I don't know exactly the wage, but for your first year at least expect to earn fúck all, in the first couple of years your basic will be crap but it should pick up with nixers, provided the work is there.

    Includes:
    • Brick & Stonelaying
    • Cabinet Making
    • Carpentry & Joinery
    • Painting & Decorating
    • Plastering
    • Plumbing
    • Floor/Wall Tiling
    • Wood Machinery
    The wage on the other phases 1,3,5 are typically a bit less than the amount for the phase after that but it does seem to vary depending on the employer , or it did when I did my apprenticship.
