Why do we have plenty of Chinese and Indian takeaways, but very few italian takeaways? This raises the question, where in Dublin are the Italian takeaways.

One I know of personally is Benitos in Dalkey, which have a seperate Takeaway to their restaurant

Thats just a italian style chipper (if I am thinking of the same one), I think he wants full on dishes like pasta dishes, like a proper restaurant that does deliveries/takeout. Though some chippers do the odd lasagne & pizza. I notice some of the pizza places are doing more dishes recently.

Its the restuarant upstairs they do a takeaway italian style menu about 10 starters\pasta dishes and a good range of pizzas. The pizza are alot more reasonable than domino's and really authentic

Ah Ok, sorry. I used to live in the area and only knew the chipper part. Dominoes and the other big boys get away with murder with what they charge, dunno how so many people just accept it.

Pasta goes cold very fast, hence it makes bad food to deliver.

There's a local pizza place that does pastas etc as takeaway - the're sealed well so heat isn't the main problem-it's more like a stodgy consistency though (like chips left too long in the chip bag) Pasta tends to be served from pan to plate quite quickly- as it contains a lot of starch, even a 10 minute delay tends to ruin it from a taste and consistency aspect.
