Talking about the Dublin Marathon

    Hi All,

I posted a message about the dublin marathon and I got a yellow card and my thread was closed. While I find this mostly petty and funny I'm also surprised that an open forum has censorship like this.

If this was child pornography or something like that then I'd get it, but what is the deal with not allow people ask for help about information for the Dublin marathon? Isn't this the internet?

What else are we not allowed to talk about here. If I was to ask, does anyone know a pub where I can have a smoke inside, would that be a breach of the charter. It is after all illegal, not just against the dublin marathon rules.

Whats the deal? Am I missing something here or is this all a bit of a farce. Moderators gone mad.

    Conor

Let me tell you a story. Several years ago, in a big city marathon in the US (NY), someone didn't bother his bum entering the marathon on time. He bought a number off someone else (against the race rules) and started the marathon. He had a cononary during the race and died. The organisers arranged for the widow of the race number to be informed, only she wasn't the widow of the runner, her husband was sitting at home with shin splints. Someone else was running.... his wife didn't find out he was dead for quite a while.....
