Either the OP didn't really think that as a pre-pubescent child (my money's on that ) or his mum was still tucking him into bed and kissing him goodnight by adolescence - and it's very normal for a 12-year-old boy to think about sexual stuff a lot of the time, including stuff he'd rather not think about.
