I am an existing SKY customer with 4 mix channels and sky sports. Am I better off getting the SKY HD+ box or just the normal SKY+?
I don't think I'll use the HD channels much so signing up to HD+ does not really appeal to me. Ive seen the offers for €24.50 but that is only for new customers!

Not worth it if you dont use them. The HD is an extra €15 per month on your bill.

Hi, as your an existing Sky customer, to upgrade to Sky+ will cost €249 and for HD its €129. HD is an extra €14.75 per month on top of your bill. (Both prices include installation costs)

    Regards

    Danny

That's a bit steep. Could I cancel my sub and sign up again as a new customer?

yes as long as you have had sky for more than 12 months,

they may even offer you a deal, (obviously dont tell them you want to sign up again:D)

you will have to use a different bank account and maybe a different name (wife/partner/other person in the house)

Is your HD TV simply a HDTV or is it HDMI, HD Ready or Full HD? If it's 5 or 6 years old then it may not be HDCP compliant.

No need for a different bank account, they don't check up on that, now if you use the same telephone number they will catch you out that way. Numerous people I know have cancelled and used the same bank a/c number to re-subscribe under another name and paid the €37.50 for no phoneline to be connected. I installed a few of them myself.

I have a basic Sky subscription. I rang up to cancel it recently & they offered to provide me the exact same service for half the price I was previously paying.

you dont need a phone line connected to the sky box,
