Hope i'm not hijacking this thread but i will be moving to the styx in a while and will have to decide between mmds and sky. I've always had the hardline connection in town so not sure what the options will be in the country (not alot of info about MMDS on upc site). Can anyone tell me what type of channels (digital, HD etc) are available on an aerial?

I have sky hd, my uncle beside me has mmds and i find the picture on mmds pretty bad.

Think it has about 60 channels.

I'd be more worried about broadband, were lucky were only 6 miles from city center so our exchange is broadband enabled but where your moving to might not and you could be stuck with wireless broadband.

From what i can see on the web Sky does seem to be better, i know my brother had it in town and picture was slightly better than my ntl.

The broadband is indeed the biggest problem, i had wirless at one stage in the city centre and it was terrible!! i have a feeling i wont have a choice in wexford although i have to ask the neighbours if the hardline is possible. Do sky have a broaband service? i'm sure i heard that they do but cant seem to see it on their site.

Separated this out into a new thread.

IMO you would be far better off with Sky. Far more channels available (400+ versus about 60), better picture quality and better and more mature boxes and EPG.
