    Hi,

    Anyone using one with OSX?

Thinking of installing a wireless IP camera, all seem to be Windows based.

    Any advice appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Mark.

surely IP based cameras shoudl be os independent? Wouldnt it rely on if you have apache or IIS etc installed more than the OS?

The issue is that most cameras need to be initially configured using the provided software and it's usually Windows software.

Here's a list of cameras that are compatible with EvoCam - as you can see from the list there are quite a few that are Mac compatible it's the initial configuration you have to get past.

My advice would be to contact the manufacturer and see if they can provide support on how to setup the camera if you don't have access to a Windows PC to do so.

Have you got an intel based mac? If so you could always install bootcamp and windows or this:
