20/24 on winter training wheels makes Jobst Brandt cry.

I'd get the Eastons because they look nice.

I have the Aksium and i don't like them. Way too flexible.

I'm a heavy ass mofo and have ridden on fulcrum 5's over some of the worst roads in the country for a year now.
No problems (thus far) with them.

Not enough difference in the scales or description to set one pair apart from the other BUT I agree the aksiums are flexy. Fulcrums look well though.

Would you add Shim. RS20 to the list? they'd come in at budget and seem fairly well reviewed

    Rev.1
    Rev. 2

I have Mavic Aksiums. No problems in 8 months of use.

Fulcrum are good wheels but consider your tyre choice carefully as some brands of tyres don't go back easy after punctures. Personally have found Schwalbes and Hutchinson Fusion go on easy enough but Continental I found difficult. Something you might want to consider as rainy cold weather approaches.

    Thats a very fair point.
Have three sets of wheels, the Fulcrums are by far and away the ost difficult to change a puncture. Almost impossible to get Armadillos on or off in a short time.
Gatorskins difficult, GP400s are ok. Ultremos are easiest, but most puncture prone IMO.

Mavic Open Pros. I got a set in Humphries Cycles in Finglas with Shimano Ultegra Hubs. They were very good value also, as cheap if not cheaper than online.

I have aksiums, 1 year old, never a problem and not even out of true. Just a bit heavy. Highly recommend them as a training wheel, bullet proof!
