    hey folks
    i mailed sony on monday support@ie.playstation.com> but still have had no reply,
    Any idea how long it normally takes for them to get back to you,
    iv the usual blue-ray reader not working problem ,

    Is there no phone number that can be called? It's a lot easier to ignore an email then it is somebody on the phone. If there is a phone number then make sure you keep a record of who you are talking to.

    Usually the .ie crowd take longer to reply so if I have a problem I always email the uk support crowd.

    Or you can ring their support line on 0818 365065. I can't remember what times you can ring from but I think they remain open until 10pm. Just make sure you ask if it's the Irish people you're talking to. I made the mistake of talking to a UK representitive and the phone credit shot down.

    I have a problem with my drive as well. There is a lot of comment on the web about problems created with firmware updare 3.00 and 3.01 and this has disabled the software for the blue ray drive. Sony are denying there is a problem. Anyone else having problems

    i've had the 60gb disc drive die. if no proof of purchase then 2 options: let em give you the runaround on the phone, eventually payin nearly the price of a new one on top of call charges/frustration OR just buy a new one. either way its a copout n theyre scum

    if you're really persistent and willing to show them up if not solved, i guess you can get a replacement. not worth the frustration.. and not worth the steam-of
