Open House Dublin 8th-11th October 2009
Open House Dublin is a free event, allowing citizens to explore the architecture of their city. From October 8 to 11, buildings will be open for a time for special tours given by hundreds of professionals and enthusiasts, who generously volunteer their time. All events are free, and entry is on a first-come basis, with certain events requiring pre-booking. Join us and discover your city!

Sounds boring right until you look at some of the establishments that are opening their doors for free. Yes, you may already have guessed it from the name of the thread, the Guinness Storehouse is one of the Open Houses!

I rang today and booked a free tour on Sunday. Tickets are normally 13.50 and you get a free pint of the black stuff at the end of the tour. Spaces are limited so hurry.

I have an inkling that they might not give the free pint with the free entry

Doubt the pint will be included, but this is still a cool freebie :) I've already done the tour so will pass on it, but nice find OP

You need a ticket to get the pint (used to be a nice plastic thing). If you get a ticket then you might get the pint but otherwise I doubt it. You will however get a half pint (maybe less) during the tour itself.

You can keep going round and picking up more of the free samples too, just don't make too much eye contact with the people putting them on the bar. ;)

The first time I was on that tour since they added the skybar, the sample on the tour was a lovely room temp unfiltered version of Guinness if I remember right, I was there the other week with American family and it was a normal, chilled, nitro kegged Guinness with little flavour, the same as you get at the pub.
