problem online shop

Folks...a quick word of warning to anybody thinking of buying sat bits and bobs online.

I ordered a small item from a German online shop in June and still have not received it. I've sent multiple emails (which he doesn't answer) and rang numerous times and I cannot get the guy to complete my order.

In fairness though, he did post it (I know this because he eventually sent me the tracking number) but the postman didn't leave me a note to collect the parcel. So when this guy eventually gave me the tracking number the parcel was on its way back to Germany!

That was months ago. There have been many an unproductive email and phone call in the meantime but today when I once again called we had a breakthrough. He actually knew the order and told me that it was returned to him and that I would need to pay for shipping again if I want it. When I told him I was not willing to do this and that I would like to cancel the order he actually hung up on me. Now, I was not ranting at him. It was a perfectly calm conversation. I told myself it must have been a mistake and tried to ring back immediately but he would not answer. So I'm pretty sure he hung up on me.

Unbelievably, poor service and would avoid this place like the plague! Don't think I'm being unreasonable?

I had a similar situation recently. Ordered online from the states and they put the wrong address so an post sent it back. They never bothered to contact me and inform it was returned but thought it perfectly ok to go ahead and charge my credit card again for additional shipping and I only found out once I noticed it on my credit card statement! I contacted them and they apologised but would not refund and instead offered credit! still trying to get it sorted.

Contact the European Consumer Centre in Dublin and they should be able to help you out. http://www.ecic.ie/

the crowd in question was satshop.tv

I wasn't sure if it was ok to post the name here. I've bought lots online and this crowd (actually think its one guy) are without compare. Never had problems like this before.

Intend on contacting ecic but I don't hold out much hope.

I've had nothing but good dealings with satshop.tv. I've ordered many things from them from Dreambox's to LNB's and I've never had a problem.

If the postman/courier had the decency to leave a note regarding missed delivery, you wouldn't be having this issue now.

It wasn't UPS by any chance, as they've did the same to me? My only saving grace was that I had tracking number which I checked daily, and noticed a message saying Attempted delivery.

No. An Post didn't leave me a note to collect.

Is there a responsibility on the vendor to get the item to you? If not why is it my problem that his chosen courier (an Post) did not get the item to me?

In light of the fact that he really failed in responding to my request for a tracking number....isn't it reasonable to expect that he would resend the parcel?

I have had three different orders with satshop and have never had an issue. The despatch notice email in each case had no subject line, but the body of the mail had the order number and the tracking number - all sent by registered post. Perhaps the OPs spam filter caused the despatch email to be binned?

Don't think so. But my PC died in the intervening time (it's been almost 4 months) and I still do not have my item. He has at no point contacted me. As far I can understand does not intend to deliver my item or refund me. I think my experience speaks for itself.

All I can say is that when it goes smoothly perhaps this guy is ok. However, as soon as there is a problem there is zero support or co-operation.

I think this is a poor way to do business and that is why I wanted to let people know about my experience with them. People can make their own decisions.
