Thinking of going snowboarding in Kitzbuhel next Feb. This will be our third time boarding and thinking of booking it all ourselves and not going through an operator like Direct Ski.

    Anyone been there? Opinions?

We were there in 2007, so I can't really comment on the slopes! But the village is lovely and plenty of place to go (when there's no snow!)

Went there independently in 2008 and loved it. Wasn't snowboarding but one of the girls with us was and loads about. We were there the week of the Hahnenkamm run, so there was a great atmosphere.

Was over boarding in Kitz last year, epic quantities of snow (unlike previous years), some great powder and off piste. Plenty of runs for all abilities, but would be geared a little more towards intermediates than other resorts. Little or no queues for lifts/gondolas.Had a great week, booze/ drink was not that cheap but apres ski was great.
