Smackdown spoilers, Matt continues to job, Dolph and Maria split up, Michelle wrestles someone not named Melina, Taker talks rubbish about taking peoples souls and the next PPV main main event is announced. :o

    Dark Match

    1. Jimmy Yang Wang beat Heath Slater. The ECW and WWE Superstars tapings took place after this match.

    WWE Smackdown Taping

Teddy Long came out and congratulated Undertaker on winning the World Hvt. Championship. Long said Smackdown is the dominant brand. He went over the John Cena vs. Randy Orton announcement from Raw and said if Cena loses he's welcome on Smackdown.

CM Punk's music hit and he limped to the ring. Punk chastised Long for focusing on Cena - a Raw wrestler. Punk said he wants his rematch with Taker in a submission match with the same ref. Out came Vince McMahon, who said he's still not pleased with Teddy Long. Vince announced Taker vs. Punk vs. Mysterio vs. Batista at Bragging Rights in a Fatal Four-way. Vince then introduced Rey Mysterio for his match.

    1. Rey Mysterio pinned Chris Jericho. Mysterio won after a 619 and splash. Good match as expected from these two.

    2. Michelle McCool beat Eve after a kick to the face. Eve is pretty damn good in the ring.

Backstage Vickie was snuggling with Eric Escobar. Teddy Long walked in and Vickie voiced her displeasure that Escobar wasn't in a match. She also asked Teddy why he keeps provoking Undertaker. Escobar said something in Spanish. Vickie said Teddy is still on probation.

    3. John Morrison pinned Dolph Ziggler to retain the Intercontinental Title. Ziggler set up a chair near the apron to use, but Maria accidentally took it to sit down on. As Ziggler argued with Maria, Morrison hit the Chuck Kick.

Backstage, Dolph Ziggler broke up with Maria. He can't let his personal and professional mix. He left her in tears.

Batista walked into Mysterio's dressing room and told him he'll get to be in the ring when he wins the belt at Bragging Rights. Mysterio said he's going to win. They laughed and exchanged hugs.

    4. Drew McIntyre and Kane beat R-Truth and Matt Hardy. McIntyre hit his finisher on Matt for the clean pin in about five minutes.

Taker came out and cut a promo about the importance of him winning the Word Title. It was a very Undertakerish promo with talk about wayward souls. He talked about the fatal four-way at Bragging Rights and broke down each of his opponents and their characteristics. He said he will still take their souls.

    5. CM Punk beat Batista by count out. Afterward, Batista gave Punk the Batista Bomb and celebrated on the ramp.

    Dark Match

    1. Undertaker pinned CM Punk. Taker won in one minute.

    ECW
    Dark Match:
*Jimmy Wang Yang defeated Heath Slater.

    ECW on SyFy:

*Lauren Mayhew is the ring announcer.

*William Regal and the Ruthless Roundtable came out. Regal discusses making a match for the ECW title tonight. Zack Ryder comes out and claims he should still be the number one contender, since he didn't get his match last week. ECW champ Christian comes out with Tony Atlas, a Janitor and Yoshi Tatsu. He goes down the row and says each of them are more deserving of an ECW title shot. Tiffany returns and says she will make the decision and she hasn't decided who the number one contender is yet, but Ryder will get the rematch he was supposed to have last week. Regal will wrestle Tatsu and Jackson and Kozlov will have a tag match tonight.

*Vladimir Kozlov & Ezekiel Jackson defeated Goldust & Tommy Dreamer.

*Backstage, William Regal spoke to Tifany. She mentioned that if John Cena loses his Iron Man Match at Bragging Rights, he could end up in ECW. She tells Regal his match is next.

*Yoshi Tatsu defeated William Regal, although Regal's foot was under the ropes and outside the ring. The Ruthless Roundtable remain at ringside for the main event.

*ECW champ Christian defeated Zack Ryder by DQ when the Roundtable attacked him. They beat down Christian and Ryder, then stood victorious as the show went off the air.

Nah they just moved Batista, I doubt they would move Cena now. Raw needs him more.

I like to see Christian on SD or even Cena they would be better than Batista

Why cant they let Shelton have the ECW title or at least challenge for it

    So whose next for Jerishow?

I know, Batista back from injury and Rey only back from suspention. Not many other options though.

Is anybody keeping track of how many times you've said you would like to see Christian on SD?, you must REALLY want it!!!

unless they're protecting Punk by not having him pinned again, i find it ludicrous though.

rumour has it we'll have another Batista/Taker rivalry, so i can see a close finish where Batista kind of gets screwed somehow; probably by beating Punk.

    but hopefully the midget. ;)

    Yes i really do :D

He has paid his dues in ECW and come on we could see Punk/Christian, Morrison/Christian, Taker/Christian, Rey/Christian, Ziggler/Christian and Batista/Christian all new feuds (at least i cant remember them feuding before) and forgetting Jericho/Christian :D

So after 1 tag team match against current champions Batista and Ray breaks up for singles; what was the point of having them go for the tag team title as partners then ?

ECW ratings might slip without him and i doubt he'd provide much of a boost to the Smackdown ratings either. Wait for him to put over another new talent before he moves.

    Lack of other challengers?

    This.
They probably thought Rey's retuning and teaming up with Batista to face Jerishow would get a few extra PPV buys.

They both know Mysterio isn't winning and can laugh about it!

So Taker wins the WHC but doesn't make an apperance on Smackdown??

Maybe theres a chance of Taker retaining at Bragging Rights? Its a fatal four so taker can rest on the outside whiles the others go at it then come back in and hit a tombstone and retain?

He cut a promo in the show just before the main event.
Yeah Rey, Punk and to a lesser extend will probably have to do all the work in the match if they worried about his health.

The four way has to be a way of looking after taker.

I would of preferred to see Punk v Batista for the WHC, taker never needed to be involved. Why did they not just have Matt v Punk in Canada and then HIAC have Punk v Batista.

Punk vs Batista in a Cell match with one month build would have been worse than having Taker/Punk on their second encounter though. And there's no way they would have went with Matt in a title shot on PPV. Although I agree, it would have been the right timing if they were to do attempt that.

It's definitely to protect Taker though, and i could see him dropping the belt. I could even see Punk win it back but by pinning Rey.

Your right, I did think my ideas I put forward were flawed. I just don't like the idea of taker out there when he isn't ready to be and I was considering alternatives. My alternatives were two other guys just back from Injury so I wasn't exactly inspired when i tought of them!

Punk seems to be getting the edge treatment so another title win wouldn't be a shock.

No I agree on that as well- Taker shouldn't have been out there over the past two months if he physically isn't up to it. Your post raises the obvious issue, that they're in a bad way on top in the sense that without resorting to having Batista switch brands, or a half-mobile veteran return, they were without a main-event caliber challenger.

Of all the options, that's what I'd like to see most. It gives Taker an out, and sets up a sensible challenge from the 4th guy who wasn't pinned (possibly Batista, but I'd prefer Rey).

So Vinny Mac is behind Punk and Teddy Long screwing Taker if so when will it come out.

jaysus, looks like they're either really protecting taker (a real possibility) or hammering poor aul punk with that dark match.

It was probably just a means to get Taker doing something out there in front of the crowd, and there's no point risking him in a proper post-show dark match.

Well I hope the casket match in Dublin lasts longer than a minute!

Exactly, dark matches mean nothing and many of them end very quick simply because because the wrestlers sports entertainers are simply to tired to have a second match that night. The heel will always lose them emphatically as long as their is not a title involved to send the crowd home on a happy note.
