So I have a 05 golf and the orange exhaust warning light came on last night. Firstly is it safe to drive? And what could be wrong/will it cost lots to fix? Would this be covered in the warranty? Only have it a couple of months. Does it have to be a vw dealership I take it to?

An orange light usually means its safe to drive, but it needs to be looked at. What is the light exactly? Is the car a diesel? Could it be a DPF filter light?

Because its not VW covering the warranty, you will have to take it to the garage you bought it from - it will be their warranty covering it.

It says it’s to do with the exhaust and emissions. It’s a petrol car. Do you think that’d be covered in the warranty from the garage I bought the car in?
