Squaring Up the Clubface for Impact

So I changed my grip from strong to weak with both thumbs going straight down the center of the shaft sometimes maybe letting the thumb of the right hand move to the left of the shaft (I'm a righty).

Anyway, loving the grip and am hitting shots I've never hit before, straight and long. When I connect well I hit some drives just shy of 300 yards and with the old grip I actually never ever hit straight and never this long.

My problem is sometimes I will slice, simply cause I havent got the clubface square for impact. All I do is try to concentrate on taking the clubface back low and square and on the downswing just try to square the face up as much as possible, but this is all just "feel".

Are there any tips or drills for ensuring you can get the clubface back to its square address position for impact. Cheers.

The best advice I an give is "dont try".
Its all happening too fast for you to do anything about it during the swing.
So its either your grip or your swing.

What type of slice do you have? Describe the ball flight...starts straight then bends etc?

If that's the least of your problems then you ain't got much to complain about imo.
If it ain't broke dont fix it.
Golf's not a game of perfect you will never ever hit the ball straight all of the time.

If both your thumbs are down the center of the shaft then your left hand is in a weak position (causing slice) and your right hand in a strong position (causing hook). This will lead to a lot of inconsistency in your shots. Would you consider going for a lesson?? A pro will show you the correct grip, stance and posture. You should get the fundamentals right and work from there. You'll hit much better, consistent shots in the long run.
