Hi, i am really frustrated! I've been getting full head of highlights now for years, i'm naturally dark blonde, have really light blonde now, almost an all over colour. Went to my hairdressers looking for a change and asked for a platinum colour all over, they pretty much refused and said the colour wouldnt come out properly, that i would have to cut my hair really short (its shoulder length at the mo) and it would turn out different colours, not one shade all over. They just talked me into getting highlights again, which i didnt want but gave in. Does anyone know if what they were saying was true or should i go somewhere else?

as far as i know they can strip your hair and u could go the colour you wish but i wouldn't recommend it! it depends on what colour your hair is! like i have blonde hair with a slight hint of strawberry blonde and theres an orange tint to it when i go platinum. my friend is darker and she ended up with a blue hue off her hair and ive seen a girl with a grey hue off hers! its very hard to go platinum and the hairdresser would give the best advice! If they dont recommend it then id stick with the highlights! get them to put platinum highlights in the next time! Oh and an all over platinum can dry out your hair really bad!!!!

As far as I know, a lot of it depends on what condition your hair is in and what type of colour is in there already..

Hi, I have been various shades of blond highlights/full colour incl Platinum for the last 8 years.

From my experience, if you have highlights at the moment (some light and some darker bits) then you will still see the tone difference after an all over colour.

Platinium hair is very hard to keep in good condition even with all the expensive treatments, the last time i went platinium, alot of my hair broke off (at about 4 inchs from my scalp!!, my hair was mid way down my back)
If your hair is shorter it is easier to keep in better condition...

    Best of luck! ;)

Have you considered shaving it all off, go for the Sinead O Connor look, just an idea, and it will save on all the hairdresser bills
