NTL HD with oldish HDTV

Just ordered NTL HD and then got to thinking afterwards if it will work with my TV or not.

It has a DVI connection and a 3.5mm input at the back and can display up to 1080P

I have my XBOX 360 working at 1080i as well as a Sony Blu-Ray Player.
Using outputs on XBOX or BluRay to this type cable (came with the TV)

and then a VGA to DVI converter into the DVI in on the TV.

Can I just use a DVI to HDMI adapter or are there going to be decoding issues?
If it will work , should I buy one before the NTL engineer comes?

If its not going to work, would Sky HD?

Also I could'nt find any pictures of the back of the NTL box at all and that would also tell a bit more!

From reading this it can take the 1080 signal but down converts to 720?
Agh so confusing!

I'm in the same situation, but haven't ordered HD. My TV was HD ready a good few many years ago before HDMI became the standard.

Well, ill let ya know by Friday if nobody else does! TV can take HDCP tho so it says. Stick up your TV details sure at least, somebody might know!

You can use HDMI -> DVI but DVI won't transfer the sound. You need to use audio out on the box for that.
