Can somebody recommend a law book that deals with general issues of Irish law, like
theft, assault, libel, slander, business crime in general something for the beginner with examples.

Byrne and McCutcheon - The Irish Legal System is generally regarded as the leading introduction to Irish Law book, not sure what edition it is in now (4th maybe) but think there is a new edition out this year

If you want information on a particular area of law there are small books available called Nutshells which should help you

Ask on the legal discussion forum if you need any more information
