    Hi WicklowRacer

Yep I'd have to say the 37PFL8404 is an excellent choice - this particular range is a shop and Boardies favourite (we love 'em - I get to look at these all day -- I know, I should be working not watching TV - sorry John!!)

you really cant go wrong with this one, it ticks all the right boxes.

What features do you have in mind?
What will you be using it to watch - sport, movies, X-factor?
what would you like to plug into it? - actually with our TV's you can pretty much plug everything into them - plenty of sockets.

I should also ask, what kind of budget do you have in mind?

We have the 37PFL5604H pitched below the 8 Series and the almighty 37PFL9604H at the top of the ladder- so you have a few options there.

    talk later

    Ash

    Movies and sport.

Can you point me at the best technical documentation for an explaination of the net features, on board software etc ?

Budget is fine - is the price above the best offer ?

    Nicola on behalf of Ash

    Hey Wicklowracer,

The best site to have a look at all the extra features on the 8 and 9 series are the following links to the Philips website.

    the 37PFL8404 - http://www.consumer.philips.com/c/televisions-8000-series/8000-series-37-inch-full-hd-1080p-digital-tv-37pfl8404h_12/prd/ie/

    and the 37PFL9604 - http://www.p4c.philips.com/cgi-bin/dcbint/cpindex.pl?ctn=37PFL9604H/12&slg=en&scy=IE

I've PM'd you some prices to go with these screens.

Thanks and let me know what you think, Nicola.

    Sung,

Many thanks for the post & apologies for the delay in getting back to you.

Yep the 37PFL8404 is a really great set - all the quality of the award winning '74' series but it adds NET TV (great ability to openly browse the web on the TV!) and Ambilight

The retail is €899.99 and you get a Boardies 10% discount from The Philips Shop so the price you pay is €809.99 - this includes a 4 year warranty

It really is a beautiful set - give us a shout if you are interested and I'll get one of the guys to look after you,

    ATB,

    John Mc & Crew
