Wedding band for Mayo/Galway wedding - recommendations

Hello... I've just booked our wedding for next May Bank Holiday weekend in Mayo but am having trouble finding a band. We haven't been to many local weddings this year and I never paid attention at previous weddings to who the band were!?! Can anyone recommend a band who really filled the floor at a wedding you were at in the Mayo/Galway area. I'm terrified that all of the good bands will be gone as it is during a bank holiday weekend... I don't mind investing in a band as having a good old bop is what can really make a good wedding fantastic. Many thanks for any and all help...

A lot of wedding bands travel around the country so they dont have to be from your county. You can listen to wedding bands on - 2bwed.ie

Hi,
We have booked legacy for our wedding next april in Galway. We went to see a good few bands and some were charging 2500+. When we went to see legacy we weren't expecting much but they were brilliant and the dance floor was hopping all night. They are from Mayo so that would be handy for you.
They charge 1500 for te night and that includes a DJ. 1200 without DJ. They are 2010 prices.

The band we chose was on this list, but as my g/f is from Mayo, we were able to rely on local feedback. Some of the bands mentioned will have cd's available which they will send on. Finally, once you've got a list of bands together you should ask to see them. We were able to see the band we choose play at a wedding which helped us make our decision. FYI, we went with a band called Flamingo.

I was at a wedding recently in the Castlecourt in Westport and a band called Concord were on stage and they have to be one of the best wedding bands i have heard. I rarely go on the danceflor but i didn't leave it all night. The website on their backdrop was www.concordentertainment.com

I thought I had already answered this thread. There are two bands I can very highly recommend both as a guest at weddings and also as the photographer.

I got married 30th May 2009. The band i had were Concorde. They were fantastic. They had everyone on the floor from the first song right to the end. I was recommended this band by many people. They charged me 1800 and well worth every penny.
