    Hey,

Im planning a ski holiday to Andorra in Jan.

I have never went skiing before. Does anyone know much about Andorra?

What about a good central hotel for ski lifts? or what would chalet hire be like compared to getting a hotel?

There will probably be a group of about 10 aged between 20-30.

Also wondering about lift passes, ski equipment hire and some lessons.

All the info available id be very grateful for.
    Ta X

I went last January and it was my first time. We got a real cheap deal to Arinsal. 183 PPS which included flights, transfers from Toulouse, hotel for 7nights and food. Because of recession there was loads of spare capacity. The ski hire and lessons was around 300euro for the week. All the resorts are very close to the slopes/lifts and buses are always available to transport you a few Km if you want to get to a different slope.

There is a recent thread over on Winter Sports with a bit of information about Andorra, and Livigno as it happens.

i loved andorra... went there jan of this year as well and had a great time.

its a really good area for beginners, there was a group of 8 of us and most of us hadnt been before, but there were a couple more advanced who found a lot of harder slopes more suited to their abilities as well.

we stayed in soldeu, which is lovely pretty town, but also has a lot of bars for apres ski. the place we stayed was called himalaia soldeu hotel, really nice, and we went half board so u save a lot on eating out..

as well andorra is cheap when ur there cos its a tax free country, so its good value.

would defo recommend!! esp the soldeu/el tarter area :)
