Farewell to Yeats

I think Yeats gave a good account of himself yesterday in the Cadran. He's almost got a "Youmzain in the Arc" record there so maybe 3rd is best we could have expected. However, is it possible that Alandi could take over the mantle? He just needs to win 4 AGC's!

It's a shame that Sea the Stars takes all the headlines when a legend like yeats finally hangs up his saddle, I think there will be a vigil in his honour at ever Royal Ascot meet for the next 50 years or more...

Yes indeed a true legend after this years Gold Cup. The funny thing is that if he hadn't got injured in 2004 he could have won the derby and he might never have ran in the Gold Cup.

I've followed Yeats over the years and it was a bit of a let down to see him beaten in his last outing, I would have rather seen him retired after Ascot. In saying that, those four Gold Cups will live long in the memory, and it's a fair point that his last race was overshadowed by Sea The Stars in the Arc.
