Hi, Has anybody gone ranching in the US before? We are planing a week ranching in a Dude ranch for part of our honeymoon, (Some people think we're cracked - but there you go!) Has anybody done it? Where are the best places? We are looking a the Dixy Dude Range in Texas - it's relatively Cheap in comparison to the ranches…

Hi,

Has anybody gone ranching in the US before?
We are planing a week ranching in a Dude ranch for part of our honeymoon, (Some people think we're cracked - but there you go!)

Has anybody done it?
Where are the best places?
We are looking a the Dixy Dude Range in Texas - it's relatively Cheap in comparison to the ranches in Colorado and Wyoming and that - anybody know why?
Is 220 a room a night here - appox so 1400 for both of us for the week.
Where Colorado ranches seem to be 2000 per person per week ! that's a huge difference.

Has anyone done these?
Are they good fun or is it really corny ? I'd be afraid it's very staged or something.

Any input is welcome.
