    Hi guys,

I have decided to take the plunge (again) and am picking up a 60gb PS3 this week, theres a couple of things that im not too sure on however and if someone on here could answer me it would be greatly appreciated.

1- Im under the impression that not every ps2 game will work, is there a fairly comprehensive list anywhere? I have tried googling but im coming up short.

2- Given that i will mostly play the 360, which is occupying the solitary HDMI slot on my tv, how do ye rate component? My tv is a 32" mirai HD ready, optimal resolution on the 360 seems to be 1360 x 768. I have read that on a tv this size something around 720p is recommended, anyone have any info?

3- I notice looking through the ps1 list on the PSN that a lot of the games id buy are US or Japan release, i assume on order to download them i will need an account from the specific country?

4- I had a 40gb last year for around 2 weeks, but i sold it very quickly, can my account be recovered?

Cheers for taking the time to read ;)

Yes your account can be recovered, you just need your Email and password used to create the account.

You can create a US and JAP account to download PS1 games, but you will need either a credit card from those regions, a PSN voucher from those regions or an Entropay virtual credit card set up for that region.

You can use one of these: HDMI hub

I would either buy a psn card off ebay or my 3v card which the ps3 registers now as an actual credit card.

    +1 For that.

I didnt think that any PS2 games worked in a Euro PS3 since the hardware emulation was removed from the Euro model.

Definitely +1 for this, great reference info. One thing though, i tried the first splinter cell in the actual 60gb and the message was something along the lines of the ps2 game being the wrong region? I cant remember the specific wording, but im a bit confused by that? The copy of splinter cell is PAL, i wonder is the 60gb PS3 an NTSC model?

Also, im not really eager to use a HDMI hub or splitter, i remember with scart blocks/switchers they tended to dilute the signal. I do however think that i might give component a punt, has anyone used it?

I use component for my 360 while the Ps3 is on one of the HDMIs. When comparing the 360 on both inputs I see no difference.

I considered that, however the xbox will ALWAYS get more play time. And i refuse to pay 40 quids for a component cable for the xbox when i can get a game branded one for the PS3 for less than a tenner. However if someone was to tell me that they have tried both on each and the PS3 loses too much on component vs the 360 then id possibly reconsider....
