Sister in law needs a new car, she has 2-3k to spend. She has two kids, but she wants something small-ish....She is driving a 97 starlet at present but its giving her problems....

So I would appreciate any helpful input...

    Thanks in advance....

The usual fiesta 1.25 zetec. Back seats a bit tight but grand for kids. 01-02 easily achievable for that money

An SUV is hardly small-ish though.

Insurance would be very similar and drivng it would be easier than driving a starlet

It's not that big in fairness

lots of room for the kids

    Great car

To be honest the road tax would probably kill her on that Honda....Should of mentioned that as well....

Road tax is 614 euro for the year and it's not too bad on juice you'll get over 350 miles on a tank

Micra 1L? Only has about 10 moving parts so goes and goes. Make sure to get one with power steering.

for that money just look for something Japanese and in good condition. Micras, yaris a civic if you can get a clean one or as said above the 1.25 fiesta (not any other) I know its not japanese but it was my first car and didnt give any trouble til 160000 miles, not bad for a little engine
