picture is perfect in house, second tv picture is very hazy, signal is bein relayed via aerial and not an AV cable. Any other suggestions? thanks...is there an alternative frequency to tune in on? i'm picking up the sky by tuning in at C 31.

If the picture is perfect on your TV number 1 why not just tune TV number 2 to the same frequency? Is TV number 2 far away from the box (loss of signal)? Are you using a splitter? Are you using shielded 75 Ohm cable?

It's difficult to diagnose as you are very sparse with your setup info...

An actual aerial, or an aerial cable ? And from the first sentence, to a different house ?

You can change the frequency of the Sky RF output, and retune the 2nd TV; but I can't see the RF output being strong enough to power an actual aerial.

Sorry if I'm misunderstanding your setup, btw.

You can change the freq that the sky box is coming out at...and this may solve your problem. Its likely you are getting interference from the terrestrial aerial going into the sky box..

    to change the freq

    press services
    key in no 4
then key in 0,1 and select in succession
    now no 4 again

you should see rf 31 so change it to somethink else eg 40 etc and ensure the power to rf2 is turned on. Now click save and retune your tv to see picture...if its still fuzzy try a different freq...make sure to keep it as far away from the freq of the rtes as possible..where are you living?

Thanks for de reply. TV2 is approx 12 metres away from Tv1 but there is a splitter box. Also using shielded 75 ohm cable.
got a loan of a sky+ box and picture quality is perfect on TV2 as well as TV1. A little baffled?

apologies, via aerial cable 75 ohm, no not to a different house.....second tv set is in bedroom and roughly 12 metres away.
    thanks for the reply

OK, there's the answer then... The panny boxes are getting quite old... :) I'm afraid you need to get a new receiver if you want to continue with TV 2...

what a pile of crap...the panny boxes are one of the best ever made in my opinion and I use one myself...is the second tv fed from rf1 or rf2? If its rf2 then ensure that the power is turned on as per my previous post.

Erh, the Panny box via RF gives a poor picture. He swapped and used another Sky+ box and picture came out clear and perfect

It is a known fault with older Panasonic boxes that the RF can cause problems over time (see SatCure) so he can either change the RF connector (including lead) or bin it and get a new and MUCH better Pace receiver. That's my opinion :)

You mean in your opinion I take it?

I strongly disagree. PACE boxes are IMHO by far the best boxes out there and a digibox that old do get tired after so many years use no matter what make and model you're using...

Perhaps they are on different RF out channels? Without testing on site I cannot see how you can be so certain as to what the problem is. In my experience Panasonic boxes gave less trouble than other brands.

    thanks lads,
never really got to the bottom of it......upgraded to a pace sky+ box and the problem seemed to have sorted itself out. almost picture perfect in both rooms.
    appreciate all the responses

Totally agree with you Tony 100%, I have never come across one panasonic box give tuner problems on rf...I have done with Amstrad boxes alrite, only time I have had problems was where the rf signal was too strong, older tuners have problems with rf signals often over 60-70 db and a variable attenuator often solves that problem.

It may also be simply an rf clash and changing the rf frequency would often solve that problem.

On stating I think the panasonic boxes are one of the best...I say this as Im an installer and with acess to any make box that has come onto the market I have tried them all out and am currently using an old panny box because I feel its quick at changing channels and has much better sound than any pace box including the new design...but thats my opinion and I dont say my opinion is gold as if every1 taught the same way the world would be a boring place me thinks..

sorry to disagree with the other lads here but I have had 2 panny boxes that have poor picture on the rf out, but then again seen a good few grundigs that were aswell (thank god they have all but disappeared). The panasonic boxes are now quite old and no matter how well built they do degrade over time. especially if been powered on for last 6-8 years.

they were good in there day but sadly that day is gone. all gen 1&2 boxes are nearly all gone belly up at this stage nad are no longer worth fixing.
another thing I have noticed alot of the older boxes seeming to fail shortly after new cards were issued. the new encryption seems to be taxing them a bit more.

No need to be sorry :) It would get boring here really quickly if we all agreed on everything. From what the OP has said it does seem to be the case that it was the panasonic RF out giving the trouble. My point was though that other factors could contribute and should be checked out before ditching the box.

well yeah the way it should have been approached should have been

    - Check that the rf out channel matches what is tuned in to TV
    - Check all connections
    - Remove the RF in from box to ensure that it is not a recently added frequency causing interference.
    - Make sure the rf2 power is on if there is an inline powered splitter in between.
    - Then check with a known working box on the same rf channel.

Always found channel 69 :o to be the best in most locations.
