    Hi all,
Daughters nokia k770i got washed with a pair of jeans.

Is it now a paperweight? Repairable?Less than a year old,8 months approx.

Is it worth anything for parts?

    Regards,

    Kieran

I'd try put it in your hotpress or on top of a folded towel on a radiator; both have worked before for either myself or people I know.

This can work at times, but would be very surprised if it worked after a washing machine got to it. It not the same as dropping it in water for a few seconds.

When its liquid damaged you wont get cash for it. The housing it about all thats useful but you will get nothing worth the hassle for it.

The best thing you probably can do is send it to freepost jack and jill

if the housing is still good you might get a few bob for it on ebay.

There's usually a small, white sticker near the contacts of the battery that changes colour, to red, when wet. I found this out when I had a problem with my K800i. After it wouldn't switch on, I took out the battery and noticed the sticker on the battery was red, whereas I recalled it being white before. Upon buying a new battery and using it in my K800i, it started working perfectly. This is something you may want to check OP, if the handset still doesn't work after drying it out.

    Hi Lads,

Yes that sticker is now red, i never noticed the color change.

Must try and get a loan of a battery to try.

    Thanks for all the replies.

if the battery was taken out right after it happened, you have a chance. if it wasnt, bin it and move on. you're asking for a miracle.
