Paying a court fine

Not legal advice, more of a procedure question

Was in the District court last week, I hadn't paid my TV licence and got a summons. Oh the shame! :o

I was asked if I had anything to say but I didn't realy, just "nothing to say Judge". And I showed the TV licence I had bought 20 minutes before arriving.
That was that and I got a 120 euro fine that everyone else there got
Tbh, he giving far bigger fines to the people who didn't show up, I think he took it as bit of an insult.

And then I walked out but what happens next?
Did I have to met a court clerk? Will a letter be posted to me?

I don't want another summons for not paying a fine. I'll pay but I don't know who to give my money to!

Oh, one other question, do I get some sort of record over this?
Never been in court before so I'm not sure.

my understanding is that its your obligation to goto the fines office in Aras Ui Dhalaigh (Four Courts) in Dublin - along the quays....Monica on reception will show you where to go - or ask the photographers outside or security outside.

(however there are loads of unpaid fines due to the FACT that so many people await notification and it never arrives and they simply forget about it or assume that they will be notified)

NOTE: The fines office is your stereotypical civil service office - open 9.30-12 and 2-4.30 I think.... so when you are available to go in (ie. Lunchtime) they are closed....I'm hoping that I dont offend any civil servants - I understand that the offices would be closed to facilitate the huge amounts of paperwork that are caused by our stupid government and legal procedures.

As regards conviction - depends on what the judge said at the time - ie. convict, fine €120 ....so yes you will have a conviction - but best to check with the fines office and ask them how it will effect you.
