Both these games are now available at a good price.

I didn't like resistance 1, I prefer HL2 and Unreal T over console type FPS, it will be single player only.
    So which should i buy??

Console and PC FPS games are all the one now. You can get HL2 and UT on the PS3 or 360 exact same as the PC versions except for graphics. If you didn't like R1 then you most likely won't like 2. Killzone 2 for €20 is a good buy, picked it up last week for that price.

I would say Killzone 2 myself, as I bought it again for that price yesterday.
    Great game.

I havn't played Resistance 2 now, so cant comment on that.

HL2 is terrible imho, the ps3 version was ported by EA and it shows.
UT is a nice game, but for single player.... I'm not sure it has the depth the others have.

    Hope that helps

I bought resistance 2 for €20 in Game yesterday, I played the first and thought it was not bad, the story was good. R2 is far better, it's much faster paced and the weapons are better and the story is still interesting. Personally I didnt think much of Killzone 2, I dunno I just couldn't make myself like it

I already have HL2 and UT, my point is i prefer them over Halo and Gears types.

Like, which game would be closest to HL2?

Resistance 2. The variety, gameplay and plot in the SP campaign is superior to Killzone 2.

In KZ2, if felt like I was playing on the same level with the same weapons for the entirety of the game.

In Resistance 2 the environment changes frequently from forest, to swamp, to town, to city, to alien spaceship, to underground... etc. On top of this the weapons are extremely varied in power and function.

I also liked the premise behind Resistance 2 more, being set in the mid 20 century as an alternative timeline to ours, being that the Crimera spread out of Russia stopping the Nazis from ever getting to power. The variety of 1940's weapons mixed with Alien weapons is interesting.

KZ2 just seems like your generic story of space marines invading an off world planet with a colour pallet that ranges from brown to grey. Don't get me wrong, I liked it. KZ2 is one of the best games on the PS3. I just think Resistance 2 is better.

Resistance 2! Storymode is alot better and longer + the multiplayer will have you hooked for months!!

Finished em both, enjoyed them both. Very hard to pick one. Killzone probably edges it because the graphics are alot better.

Resistance has a much better told, more involved story, Killzone has much better graphics. In terms of gameplay, both are pretty similar.

To eb honest though, if you didn't like the first Resistance, get Killzone.

Resistence is very arcadey too close to Halo for my liking. Multiplayer is utter rubbish. 60 players but it just doesnt work.

Killzone is a lot better multiplayer single player game s a bit the samey but i would go for killzone 2.

Killzone is a great online game while Resistance is pure mayhem. You often find people on your team turning into cannon fodder as they all gang around the same corridor and get mowed down. Killzone is much more focused. Single player is great also good challenge and every firefight is unique. Also visually RS2 hasent a patch on KZ2. Well worth 20 squid.

No there was a rumour but they never included it. Every game should have co-op these days

it will be single player only.

hmm... if you aren't in anyway interested in MP (going by your other thread about not having BB I guess it's understandable) then you are not going to get a lot out of the SP campaign in KZ2. The main area where KZ2 is better than Resistance 2 is the MP, which you won't be able to experience.

I personally didn't like the first Resistance much at all, but really enjoyed the sequel due to its variety.

If you liked HL2 you would of loved Resistance 2, the premise is very similar, as well as the feeling of scale.

I think single player KZ2 is more similair to the better parts of quake 4 than hl2. KZ2 does also have an offline skirmish mode playing against bots which the OP might find useful.

I have both games but I'm only about half way through Killzone 2.

I played both resistance games. I would not recommend the second one as I felt it was,

Horribly repetitive in terms of enemies and fight sequences.
    Controls were a bit sticky/slow, I felt.
The story wasn't great, it tends to meander around a bit and bear little reference to the first game.

MP supports up to 64 players online which can be fun.

    As for Killzone 2,

The controls are awful! So clumsy with no option to change them.
Gameplay is a bit laggy when loading sequences (The screen will freeze for a few seconds).
MP is pretty good with room for balancing.

I'd personally push for killzone 2. They are not great games but they will not be the worst. More of ps3 answering xbox and their collection of gow and halo.

I have to say killzone was a better game but i enjoyed Resistance 2 a lot more and got way more playtime out of it.

Dont like either of their multiplayers though.
