Just noticed that TVE - Ch 795 - is gone from the EPG. This also happened a few months ago but it came back again. Apparently TVE hadn't supplied sky with their programing details.

Does anyone know what the story is this time?

I'll miss it alright. I'm sure it was there a couple of days ago. A great channel for brushing up on the Spanish lingo. Getting it via Other Channels is a bit of a pain. Its available on Freq- 11469H
    SR - 27500
    FEC - 2/3

Plenty of other FTA Spanish channels on Hispasat 30W along with 19E for your brush up. Dont use the regional channels as there a differenet language/dialect practically. Stick with TeleMadrid SAT for castellano.

It will be gone for good in a couple of weeks (if not days) according to TVEi themselves. They (i.e. TVEi) have not come to an agreement with Sky to extend the Services on Sky's platform and are therefore leaving. TVEi has advised potential viewers to move to Hotbird where their service is free...

TVEi and all the regional channels such as Tele Madrid, Andalucia TV etc are also on Astra 19.2. Subtitles also available which of course were not on Sky.

I don't think the regional channels are on Hotbird but I could be wrong.

    From another forum:

    "Dear audience,

We confirm that from the 2nd of October TVE will cease to be broadcast on the SKY platform since the trade agreement so far maintained its validity ended on that date. After lengthy negotiations and despite having done everything possible, TVE has failed to agree on a new renewal due to large economic and organizational requirements by SKY.

We are pleased to announce that our channels are broadcasted in open and free of charge via the Eutelsat Hot Bird 8. The equipment necessary for reception consists of a satellite dish and digital decoder standard free channels. The tuning parameters are available on the site -http://www.rtve.es

We appreciate your confidence along all this time and we ask you to please subscribers of SKY as they are, they do get to them and complaints relevant since it is they who have decided to pull its offer our channel.
    "

Don't know why they have chosen to communicate Hotbird instead of Astra?

And just a short while ago DW the German equivalent of TVEi was removed. What next TV5?
TVEi and DW put out barely veiled bitter statements against sky.
What is sky up to?their is always method in their madness!
These channels seem to be treated much more harshly than the'Slapper on a sofa' channels on sky

True Sky had to close its epg due to older box's reaching the end of there ability for software updates some time ago and sky are leaving the EPG owners to sell on their slots to other broadcasters.

but these 'foreign' channels had quality for those who could understand the Lingo.
Much more than some of the Sh1te still broadcasting!
