Can I use my Garmin Nuvi 250w in Switzerland?

The GPS will work.

It won't tell you anything useful though unless you put some local maps on it for wherever you are going. So you'll either need to buy some maps from Garmin, or obtain some free open source ones from elsewhere.

The 250 has maps for all of Europe which includes detailed maps of Switzerland. I have the 2010.1 maps on my laptop and Switzerland is very well covered.
