    Great thread.

Its interesting how little they've changed in essence though. Most are recognisable now.

This version of the Fiat logo came about because one night the Top man at Fiat ( that Agnelli fella ) was landing on the roof of the factory and saw the letters FIAT lit up by ....eh ...up lighters. Anyway this is how his vision translated into an emblem.

The Audi logo has changed again this year to mark the company's centenary:

Theres a certain similarity between the VW 1939 logo and the BMW one. is it a German thing or did VW make aeroplanes too, given that the BMW badge is supposed to represent spinning propellor blades against a blue sky?

At a guess the early VW logo was promoting air cooling.

Great post. if you look at the alfa one the snake in it originally can be seen eating a baby(!), it got sanitised over the years, the logo on my 156 looks like a flower or maybe fire coming out of the snakes mouth. I prefer the baby eating one, looks baaaad.

The diamond Mazda logo in 90/91 only last a little while as it was too similar to the renault logo so they made it a bit more rounded

The Alfa one still shows the serpant eating a person, its not a flame, its the upper torso and arms of a person

.................correct and the dates are wrong. A lot of the Alfa 75's had the word Milano written on their badges !

Yep, I get that its still a child, but they made it so generic that most people you ask would say its a flower or fire. As an aside google for the starbucks logo, you'd be surprised!
