an orbea orca model like this http://www.epic-cycles.co.uk/images/Orbea%20Orca%20Big%20DTS.jpg (with spinergy wheels instead of eastons) around the place, can you drop me a line. It was taken in Lucan on Wednesday night.

Thanks, it is my dh's bike. He is gutted. But I said I would post it on here since I know you are always scoping each others bikes. If anyone was to spot it it would be another cyclist.

Yes - the bike is the same as the one in the picture but the bike had black and white SPINERGY carbon wheels (the one in the picture has ds swiss), f.

It was in the car. I know, insert blush here. He had collected it to put it in winter storage. They broke into the car. The guards got prints but its more likely that someone here would spot it, specially since there aren't many around, f

Even if it's resprayed the frame shape is very easily noticed. Since I love the look of those bikes I'd spot it easily. Will keep my eyes peeled on the road. Not sure how said scumbag would be able to offload it. Keep an eye on ebay, Buyandsell or equivalent UK sites.

maybe have a chat with the local bike shop in case somebody is stupid enough to try and sell it there.

Hi F,

Heard about the bike being stolen. That sucks. I was waiting to see if the search function would be back before posting-hence the delay. Still no sign so I'm posting anyway. There were threads on here before about people recovering stolen bikes. Several of them involved going to what sounded like a makeshift shop in the North Circular Road area - ie a shop front with no signs or something.

One other thread involved doing what Hungrycol advised. A guy saw his bike for sale and went along with the Gardai and recovered it - So keep an eye on Gumtree.ie, Buyandsell.ie, possibly ebay - and maybe even adverts.ie(thats the sister site of boards - but I'm pretty sure - if it was for sale there then somebody here would have seen it)

When search is back do a search for 'recovering stolen bikes' and see what that throws up.

Cheers thats exactly the one - there were a couple of other minor threads as well but that was the main one.
