Benefit vs Allowance

I'm on Jobseekers Benefit, but because its based on my contributions (two years ago > 2007) I only get 160, and not 200.

Is that two year timeframe rolling? viz on 1s January next year will they start looking at 2008 instead automatically?

I ask because in 2008 I had a fine contribution record, alternatively to receive 200 it appears I could switch to Jobseekers Allowance., can you do that voluntarilty?

This is so confusing where is the PDF flowchart!

If you have no other means and are living outside the family home or over 25 (regardless of where you live) then you may be better off on the means tested JSA for now.
