    Welsh referee Nigel Owens has been handed the plum "champion of champions" showdown match of the autumn - Ireland against South Africa at Croke Park on November 28.

    Where does Kidney come into this? Maybe I'm living in an alternate dimension but last time I looked he was a Grand Slam winning Ireland coach.

    Eh, he is. This thread was discussing the ref choice for Ireland vs South Africa so it's probably relevant.

    My mistake. I thought it was referring to a different game due to the 'best red in the world' comment by chupacabra.

    Well best outside Ireland. I think it is commonly agreed around refereeing circles that Rolland is number one.
