Do you drink EVERY NIGHT of your holidays?

Be it a week in the sun or the slopes, or a two week road trip, or a three week Peruvian trek, when you are on holiday, do you drink alcohol each and every night?

At home, I would be a purely weekend (Fri and Sat nights) drinker these days but whenever I go on holidays, without fail, barring illness, I will drink every evening. I'm not talking going on the rip every night but I would certainly be polishing off a bottle of wine (or the beer/cocktail equivalent). It was only on my last holiday, when I looked in utter disgust at the good lady wife when she suggested that she would just have a glass at dinner and no more, that I realised that perhaps I am somewhat unusual...? To be honest, I genuinely would be upset if I couldnt drink at least a few on each night of my hols..

What do people think?

And obviously this really relates to standard 1,2 or 3 week regular holidays. I dont want any teachers voting No because they didnt crack open a bottle at home on the 25th July.....

And yes, I know its a silly thread.

meh, when I go away I like to keep a little piece of home so I don't change my drinking habitats all. 7 nights a week is plenty for me.;)

Holidays can be whatever you want them to be , either drink in moderation , excess or dont drink at all .

id say id normally go out few times on holiday,maybe every second or third night,not able to go mad every night.i could see myself easily having few glasses of wine each night if going out for dinner as im more of wine drinker now than last sun holiday

This is really dependant on age tbh...

Like i went on an All-Inclusive Holiday last year with the ex, and we pretty much drank from constantly for the week.

i did the on the last couple of holidays i was on, even on the nights we're wern't drinking, still had 2 or 3 drinks

I agree, I went on a Family Holiday this year with my Parents, brother and sister.

My Mam and Dad drank EVERY night without fail.

Me and my brother drank every second night.

So Yeah, it depends on Age.:D

ha good thread,me and the missus are going away to america for 10 nights next week and we were only discussing earlier whether to drink each night or not!!!

as im getting older my hangovers are getting worst so i have been warned that i wont be allowed sleep in to get rid of the hangovers so im in two minds about whether to drink every night and to what extent,hmmm its a diddly of a pickle:cool:

It depends on where ya go too. If your in a country like Italy, the novelty of gameshows and melodrama on the TV will wear off after about night one, so theres usually nothin else to do but hit the pub.

Ah but theres nothin better than knockin back a few drinks while sitting out on the street when its 20c at midnight. Happy days!

Depends who your with really. When im away with friends its pretty much vodka for breakfast and mickey fins as a snack for the duration of the holiday. When im with my family its much more civilised!

week in canaries with the lads used to be a week of booze.......just a haze

but then of late ive found even a week in tha canaries has turned into a 3 bender holiday as in every second night, hammered. better holiday that way

holiday with a bird , few every evening, a few though being 3/4 not like 40 unit benders.

skiing, every second night bender, other nights maybe 2 beers after dinner and bed

For me it depends on the holiday how much i'll drink per night.

Either way i'd be having a beer every night though.

I would seriously worry about dying if I went on one of those all-inclusive things. I'd be locked 24/7 and probably so fat I would have to pay for 2 seats on the way back.

I remember a mate went to one with a bar in the actual pool, you could swim up to it, all inclusive. I pictured lads rotten drunk swimming around, the pool must have been full of piss too, I can just imagine the barman "sir, this is your 14th pint today and you have not left the pool once"

Really depends on the company. My dads family are all alcoholics. My moms family is quite a bit more balanced. Left alone I drink a couple times a month at best.

Yes i drink every night. Somenights i have 1 or 2 some nights i have 10 or 12. It all depends who is getting up with the baby and and what my chances are of getting a ride(From the wife :eek:)

I went on holiday during the summer just to drink, saying that it was Ibiza and it was a Leaving Cert holiday and well I hate the sun, so not much else to do but drink, sleep and eat.:D

Being 16, I obviously take advantage of foreign countries and there lean laws. Last 3 holidays I've been on where I've had the chance I've drank every night so ye....if I have the chance I will.

rarely, just back from hungary and poland and i only drank one night out of the week away (saturday night in krakow) though we did head out again on sunday night at about 1am but everything was closed so much for krakows famous nightlife

Going to Spain this Saturday for 5 days with the Mammy and Daddy. What's the point of drinking at all, I'm on a calorie deficit, it's just going to **** me up. Over to lads then in England the following Saturday, gonna get fcuked up.

Went to Thailand for roughly 50 days over the summer and drank every night except 7, two of which I was dying sick for and 3 of which were nights before scuba diving where you couldn't drink heavily so it was just a few beers.
