Diary / Blog Thread Subforum?

Just wanted to run this past the citizens of hereabouts.

Recently there have been a spate of people starting their own betting threads, be it a target based thread, sport specific or a blog type thread.

There is nothing wrong with these threads, however at times they make up the majority of threads on the front page of the forum., so that is where the idea of a subforum comes up.

I am all for this subforum, even though I'm aware it would not be the busiest forum in the world, but I would like to see peoples opinions on it first before going ahead with this.

If this does happen the way I see it going is thread such as:

    Poster XYZ's Golf thread
    Poster XYZ's $1-$1000 in 6 weeks thread
    Poster XYZ's daily tips thread

being in the new subforum. There are a good few of those that can be moved there as soon as it is created already, and for people that create a challenge thread for themselves, they will have somewhere specific to put it, and to read updates on others threads.

The main forum would then be for the more traditional gambling threads such as the general football thread, tips for a nag, Pricewise threads, etc. Again this is open somewhat to suggestion.

Anyhow, yay/nay etc. Fire away. The aim is to tidy the place up a bit.

I'm going away for the weekend, so I'll sticky this until I get back so that it doesn't slide off the front page.

I'm all up for this as well. I'd say it would be busy enough; busier than the frisbee forum anyway:P

Nah, not in Killarney. At a stag in Westport. Probably saved me money.

To give an update on where this is, I've requested it from the admins, and will bump the request sometime next week. It won;t be a priority for them, but I don't think it'll take much doing, so hopefully they'll get to it in the next few weeks.

To use mortgage lingo, we have 'Approval in Principle'.

Looks like it's done! Good job guys. Are the current threads being moved over or starting from scratch? I reckon people should indicate what ones are still active. Some might use this as a reason to start out from scratch again.

Will be good to have them all in the same place to compare. Maybe a superthread updated monthly with a table? Not to rank the people, as it's a variety of sports and strategies, but just a sticky thread to give an overview of each one, it's purpose, and it's performance?

As above, this has been created.

I will move over relevant threads (although some of the older ones might not get moved)

Thanks to Dav for creating this, hopefully it will make things a bit more user friendly around here. If anyone ahs any suggestions (such as above) post them in there too, and if something needs to be stickied give me a shout. I'll do the charter stuff for it later.
