Little things that would probably make you buy the same car again

Ok, taken this idea from posts on the little things you hate thread going on. So, what are the little things that your car has/does that make you think you may well go for the same type again or at least have it in say the top 3?

I have a few from mine:
    - At 120kph when the wipers are on intermittant they do the down stroke and wait a second before the upstroke so that you dont need to change the speed constantly (pillar mounted wipers).
    - The way the mirrors fold in when you park.
    - Full stereo controls on the wheel and you can even turn the back lights off on them if they annoy you at night.

Few more but anyone else got some?

It's a very unimportant part of the car, but I love having a foot rest to the left of the clutch. I've had one on both cars I've had since I started driving, but any time I drive a car without one it really bugs me!

Same, it's something I never even notice in my own car - until I'm driving a car that doesn't have one!

    pics or it didn't happen!

Things my car has that would make me buy another...
    The noise
    Those seats
    The styling
    The acceleration

the car itself is an event! actually I don't know if I'll sell it now :(

These are probably better in this thread than the other one. All relate to the Mazda 3.
it has a clip on the outside of the mirror case on the drivers side sunshade, which is perfect for putting parking tickets in on your way to the machine when your leaving a car park!
Windscreen washer fluid, it automatically cuts out the back windscreen washer jet when it gets below a certain level so you always have enough for the front even before the warning light comes on, the radio can be contolled for al the magor functions from the steering wheel (except disc change which is very close to the indicator stalk so not too inconvienant), the radio also has a button you can press which finds the stations with the strongest frequency, useful if your driving long distances. Also it has little holes at the in the rear of the car near the space which the seatbelt for the middle passenger comes out of, to place the clip bit of the seatbelt in so it doesnt rattle or move about when not in use!

Another +1 on the footrest beside the clutch!

Also the Mazda3 has two storage compartments under the armrest betwwen the two front seats, a big one for everything and a small one under the arm rest! Which brings me to my next point, Armrests! In my car I can rest my arms on both my right and left side, something I notice when I m driving a car which I cant do this in!

I've an Alfa 156. While plenty of people can prob suggest plenty of reasons to buy one, but i'd have another one no problem. Reasons I'd buy another:

    -Styling
-handling for a FWD is impressive
-Sports seats are comfy even after driving Dub to Cork and back once a week
-Engine noise, and a redline of 8000rpm
-Massive spec in the Sportivo Model
    -It was CHEAP.

One or two reasons I wouldn't but nothing major:

    -no cruise control
-could use a 6th gear for the motorway.
    -No folding rear seat

But all those problems are solved by the diesel 159 though

Toyota Corolla – 2001 model, wouldn't hesitate to get another.

Everything works, all of the time.
Very comfortable seats, drive about 500 miles a week with no stiffness, aches or pains.
Plenty of room in boot and back seats
Solid on the road, well able to accelerate too.
Easy on fuel, tax, insurance & maintenance costs. My mechanic loves it, no hardship and he still gets paid.
No bother moving it on, keeping it for another while though.

    Oh yeah, it annoys SaabEd.

For me I wont buy anything now without MP3 support on the stereo, radio controls on the steering wheel, climate control and enough space for resting foot at left of clutch.

After having auto lights, and auto rain sensors which adjust the wipers to the level of rain (so no need to manually alter the intermitant sensitivity), I wouldnt get a car that didnt have these!

    1996 W124 estate:
    - rear wiper comes on automatically when front wipers are on and you select reverse
    - boot lid closes itself when you drop it down gently, no need to slam it
    - indicator on dash when a bulb is gone/windscreen washer is low

    1999 Integra Type R

an unusual plus point of the ITR is the fact it has a massive boot for a coupe, I've brought large screen hd tvs home in it no problem whereas it wouldn't fit into a focus, clio, escort, passat or even a land cruiser!

Another thing is the Recaro seats, if the next car I get doesn't have one then it will be my first purchase, the support they give is incredible and there comfortable too.

I also love the steel number plate with my ITR's unique identification number on it, its pointless but I still find it a nice touch (JDM's didn't have this)

Edit: I also love the fact that LOADS of people dont actually recognise what the car is, have had middle age men comment on it at petrol stations and Gardai at check points asking what it is and saying how nice it looks :D

    This, indefinetly.
I worked in a Ford garage, but all of the mechanics had Hondas (A Torneo Euro-R, Accord Euro-R, Civic Type R, Integra DC2 1.6, Integra DC5 Type R)
Which gave me the Recaro bug (And Honda Bug, obviously)

This led me to buy my Civic EG3, and I have Recaro seats in them, too comfy :P

I'm gonna stay Honda, and be sure they all have Recaros!

    Integra DC2 1.6

Just a quick correction there the 1.6 Integras are actually know as DC1's

    :D

Wow, after months of not knowing what an ITR is, I've finally put 1 and 1 together :L

I feel so thick, and thank you -.-

Being 6' 4 I like the fact that I can push my seat all the way back and not cripple the person behind me. Another would be the long accelerator pedal, first car I've owned with one and couldn't have another without it.. so simple yet so effective.. oh and cruise control...

I love being able to adjust the interval between sweeps on the intermittent setting for the windscreen wipers. It use to drive me made having to constantly change between normal and intermittent when the rain was just too heavy to drive safely on intermittent but just light enough to cause the "squeeeeeeeaak" effect.

Also the sunroof. Could never have a car without one again.

On my car, when you have the wipers on normal spead, and you stop, they go to intermittent. - How cool is that. :D

I remember driving cars where you had the wipers on or off, and they did not come back to rest in the original position. When you turned them off, that was where they stopped.
So, you would spend ages trying to get them to stop at the bottom of the stroke...

and then you would need to turn them on again.

    '02 BMW 320ci clubsport 170bhp

It's just the little things that I never had in my other cars that make me love my car........Leather seats (HEATED!), Electrically adjustable seats, Headlamp washers, multi-function steering wheel (I never have to reach ALL the way to the radio again:D) Electric sunroof. Straight-six engine sounds great.

Bad point: tax is around €860 or something :(

I love the feature on my car that adjusts the seats and mirrors & default aircon settings to my liking when I open it with my key and does the same for the missus when she opens it with her key.

Heated seats and MFSW are a luxury i love & I'd like to have in every car I own in the future, rear parking sensors I know loads of car have them now, but they are great, makes the tight spots that I used to pass up on for fear of scratching the paint a breeze.

Oh and there's a little light in the roof centre cluster that shines down and gently illuminates the gears and the top of the gear stick is illuminated looks great when it's dark.

One more, when reversing the passenger side mirror drops down so I can see the kerb on the other side.

But I do agree with the lil badge behind the Handbrake...I probably wouldn't buy another DC2, not because I don't love it, I just wanna move to a DC5 next!

I feel slightly jealous of all these armrests and radio controls and auto wipers and the like...but I just know when I hit 6000 RPM my jealousy will all disappear!

    I would add:
    - Wipers again (as one of the most important piece of equipment of any car in this country) - the single arm eccentric sweep windscreen wiper. This wiped 86 percent of the windscreen – the largest swept area of any car in the world when the W124 was introduced.
    - hydropneumatic self leveling rear axle as standard,
    - 2100kg of towing capacity with automatic transmission,
    - 650kg of loading capacity,
    - reliability and engineering.

Alfa: blue and me entertainment system,

The cup holders on my old 147 were the best I've come across. And the most comfortable seats, the sports cloth was a bonus

I like the thing that controls the radio just behind the steering wheel. Also the heated mirrors and big boot.

Since I got it i've slept 4 times in the boot and with rear seats knocked down and was comfortable with my bed cloths:D Avoids drink driving!

    My mk4 golf.

    Recaro seats

How well it still drives with 125k on the clock for a 1.4, feels alot stronger on the road than other cars I drove

I just showed this thread to my flatmate who owns a VX220 turbo after we came back from a drive that was dominated by weaving to avoid potholes, rattling noises, tiny bumps jolting us around, he forgot to bring the stereo (has to be taken out each time because its a soft top), and a fuel guage that constantly moves between 0 and 1/4 of a tank! Basically his car has nothing that has been mentioned on this thread! While yes, his car is epic, the lack of these little creature comforts has him in bad mood unless he is taking the car out just for a drive!

But the thread is about the little things that make you want the car again.

9k revs, the road handling, the noise, the VTEC kick, the fun drives are all well known positives of the Integra so they dont fit into the idea of the thread in my opinion.

They make the car more user friendly...but when we both bought the car...neither of us were going for the sensible option...the Kick, the noice, the handling and fun are the reasons that I'll stick with the Type R's!!

When i had my MR2 the boot was fairly small, so when ever me and the missus when shopping she always had to limit herself to what she could buy. That car saved me thousands in the two years i had it.:D
