Very hard to find anything yet, but aparently it is def going ahead as it has been advertised on tv, so should be out at the start of next year. Apparently it is a sequel, where The Major is looking for revenge for his brothers death. I would have hoped it would have been a prequel to the first.

its about him as a younger man when he was involved i think

The first one was pretty poor anyway, im not a fan of football violence films but it was poor as films go anyway.

Hold the phone, it has Graham MacTavish (of Rambo 4 awesomeness) in it.
    Totally redeemable.

Sorry, but even the normally fantastic Warden Ackerman couldn't save this movie for me. I think it's one of the worst films I've ever seen.

I think it's safe to say that this one continues in the trend of the second.

I mean it all went down hill when Elijah Wood left.

ya the second one was pure sh!t. well i can still hope...:D as long as it is actually in the streets this time.

There are few franchises I have less interest in than the Green Street one and was kinda shocked to read that a third film was in post-production but then I saw a picture from the set with Scott Adkins who it appears is playing the lead. Guess I'm going to end up checking it out sooner or later as not only is Adkins one of the best actions stars currently, he's also not a half bad actor when given something to work with.

I'd say its likely this film will be straight to video.

It has absolutely nothing to do with The Football Factory, it is in fact a spoof of the dozens of British films from the past few years that have told pretty much the same story about a disenfranchised youth who falls in with the wrong crowd before realising that kicking the crap out of other people is not the answer to all life's problems.

Looks exactly like the kind of easy to watch fare that you can throw on post pub on a Friday night. Adkins other new film, the sequel to Ninja is getting fantastic reviews with many critics calling it one of the best action films ever made so I'm hoping that a little of that magic transfers over to this.

I wonder will green street 3 be as brain dead as green street 2, going by the trailer it doesnt look like it has a plot.

No which is surprising as he is in everything else like this kind of film!

Watched green street 3 last night its a dreadful film even worse than green street 2.

I thought that it was a rather decent attempt at a forced to fight in an underground club martial arts spectacle in London. It's a film that's pretty much made up of scenes where lads drink, a number of uplifting Rockyesque training montages, grown men kicking the fucking crap out of one another and more uses of "cunt" than you can count. There's nothing original there but Adkins is a lot of fun and it had a real 80s feel that was rather familiar and enjoyable. It's not a film I'd ever want to watch again and I'm not going to be recommending it to people but for a wet, dreary Saturday afternoon there are worse ways to kill 90 minutes.

I thought the training montages were a rip off of rocky.

Another thing about the film it has a crap soundtrack.

To be fair almost every training montage in history looks similar and it was clear from the score that they were going for a very 80s retro feel.

I use to be a fan of football hooligan films but I think they have out stayed their welcome and the genre is getting old.

Other recent hooligan flixs such as St George's Day and White Collar Hooligan 2 have been especially bad.

I was never a fan of the genre and am constantly surprised by how popular it is. I assume most of it's fans are the kind of people who would think nothing of glassing someone who looked at them "wrong". What I liked about Green Street 3 was that it at least tried to inject a little something more into the set up and the casting of Adkins was a great move. He's one of the most impressive marital artists working in film and isn't a half bad actor to boot. As I said there is nothing of note in the film and it resembles two dozen other better films but there are far worse ways to kill an afternoon.

If you like gangster films that doesnt mean your a gangster or want to be one.

There's a difference between a gangster film such as Scarface, The Godfather, Carlito's Way, etc and the football hooligan films. The hooligan films exist solely to celebrate drinking and knocking the ****e out of some lad who likes a different team. There's rarely anything going on beyond violence. I've enjoyed a few of the genre entries but at the end of the day they're all pretty much the same.

I suffered through some of White Collar Hooligan at a friends and it was amongst the least watchable films I have ever came across. There was no subtext to anything and didn't explore a single theme or issue beyond lads fighting. Hell it didn't even examine that in anything other than a, "look how cool all this is" manner.

    Gangster films celebrate criminality also.

Just remembered the recently made Hooligan Wars is actually a good film but thats more about crime than football hooliganism.

But there's also a hell of a lot more going on than just saying "look how cool all this is". There's layers to the narrative and films such as Scarface (pursuit of the American dream, displacement of emmigrants, etc) and Goodfellas (Henry is a reflection on many 70s and 80s politicians, how power corrupts, etc) have so much going on.

I think your are looking too deeply into hooligan films they are just entertainment. There are also plenty of brain dead action films witch dont explore any issues.

If you really want to look deeply into those films you could say that green street 1 is a coming of age film, the football factory deals with class issues, cass deals with racism, rise of the footsoilder shows how football violence became big in the 1980s, st georges day deals with english patriotism, away days deals with gay issues, the firm(2009) deals with a youngman looking for belonging similar to green street.

But I dont look at them that way I just see them as entertainment like in rise of the foot soilder I think the football violence/action in that film is by far the best in the genre.
