Someone else was telling me about this so im not fully sure of the whole story. guy was working and social was making up difference each week so not technically on jsa i suppose.think he applied in january. he applied for btea a couple days after starting his course and continued to get payments for a month or so while his application was being processed. he was shy of the 9 months requirement. social now wants about 500 back from him because they said he knew he wasnt entitled to btea. where does he stand now? any way to avoid paying the money?

    Afraid not.

The money doesnt have to be paid back all together though, you can come to an arrangement with the social welfare to pay back a certain amount per week, e.g. €50 per week...
